Bethel KIDS Director
Background:
Bethel Family Ministries exists to support and equip parents in their role as the primary disciple-makers of their own children. Bethel Kids is a crucial part of our family ministries. The Bethel Kids Director serves to provide vision, organization, and strategy to the Bethel Kids ministry to serve families and their children.
Responsibilities:
- Lead our children’s ministry (Bethel Kids) in alignment with the mission of Bethel Community Church: Proclaim the truth of Jesus and grow mature disciples for the glory of God
- Oversee the scheduling of volunteers to teach and aid in classrooms, security, and Bethel Kids check in
- Oversee Bethel KIDS operations on Sunday morning
- Lead and ensure that Bethel KIDS classes are in alignment with Family Ministry Milestones
- Evaluate processes to ensure they are functioning to full potential
- Organize and document important paperwork such as budget and background checks
- Meet with Bethel Kids coaches to encourage and equip them (no less than quarterly) and regularly communicate with them
- Provide support for parents and help equip them in their pursuit to disciple their children at home
- Make adjustments and improvements to programming to ensure we are accomplishing our mission within Bethel Kids
- Use church software (Planning Center, Slack, Church App) and emails to communicate with staff, volunteers, and the congregation, and for record-keeping
- Along with Pastor of Families and Youth, select curriculum and ensure compliance with BCC child safety policy and other procedures
- Ensure teachers and helpers have needed curriculum and supplies and can utilize
- Ensure new families receive Bethel Kids welcome bags and children receive birthday greetings, etc.
- Help keep Bethel Kids areas up-to-date and well-stocked
- Help encourage/direct community-building opportunities with Bethel Kids Families (movie nights, park play dates, etc)
- Lead Bethel Kids training events and weekly volunteer meeting (9:45 a.m. Sundays)
- Attend weekly staff meetings
Provided Training/Resources:
- Opportunities such as conferences, books, or training materials are supported and encouraged by church leadership
- Meet at least bimonthly (monthly for first 3-6 months) with the Pastor of Families and Youth for the sake of feedback, evaluation, communication of needs, equipping, and encouragement
- Ongoing education is encouraged (such as through a seminary) and will be evaluated with Pastor of Families and Youth
- Personal laptop for BCC use
